"The camera never stops, no matter what anybody says."
American Horror Story is heading behind the camera on next week's episode, according to the promo that aired after last night's episode, in which we saw the apparent end of Matt and Shelby's nightmare.
In the promo, Cheyenne Jackson appears as a producer and instructs his crew to keep the camera rolling, no matter what. It's a quick preview, but it's not as if we expected the show to give away its own twist just like that.
The question is, what are they filming? Are they on their way to get their own footage of the Roanoke house? Is something happening in their office?
Something about the line, "even if I tell you to stop, you keep rolling" is making us think that maybe the producers of the fictional reenactment show My Roanoke Nightmare might be planning to have their own Roanoke nightmare, and Cheyenne Jackson is not trusting his own ability to keep cool in the face of whatever's about to happen.
"Starting in episode six the show has a huge turn," creator Ryan Murphy told EW, "and the thing that you think you're watching is not what you're watching."
If we think we're watching a reenactment show, what are we actually watching? How much of a twist is this going to be? Could we be watching a show that documents what happened to the cast and crew of a reenactment show that got too into its reenactment? Will all the reenactment actors now be playing themselves? How meta can this get?!
Whatever happens, we're having a great time, even if we still haven't managed to purge episode four's disembowelment from our memories, and probably never will. Cricket Marlowe, you deserved better than that.
