There's so much more to working out than what meets the eye.

For some Americans, heading to the gym is strictly to get those six-pack abs or perfect one part of the body. But for Gigi Hadid, it's not about focusing on imperfections. Instead, it's about feeling your best inside and out.

As the newest face of Reebok's #PerfectNever movement, the style icon and supermodel headed to the gym for a tough boxing class. But trust us, these sweats are going to good use.

"Working out isn't only physical for me. It's mental. It helps me escape the noise in my head," she shared. "It's the only time my mind goes quiet."

Both Gigi and Reebok are challenging women to use physical fitness as an escape to drown out all of the negativity that surrounds them.

And before you think Gigi has never experienced any challenges in her life, she's quick to admit that she has undergone some obstacles growing up.

"When I was a competitive athlete, I used to be so focused on being perfect that my coaches would take me out of competing all together," she confessed. "I'd focus on my mistakes which would breed more missteps—a domino effect."

Gigi added, "Until I learned to change the channel, to re-focus, re-set. It was my mistakes, my imperfections that motivated me most."

And if you're still not convinced that some time in the gym could bring benefits, we can't help but be reminded of Gigi's scary situation she recently experienced at Milan Fashion Week.

When Vitalii Sediuk picked up Gigi as she exited Milan's MaxMara show, the model immediately fought back.

"I played volleyball, and my coaches talked about muscle memory. I started boxing two years ago and I always remembered that," she shared in a post to Lena Dunham's Lenny Letter. "Since then, I hadn't been in a situation that forced me to fight back, but it just came out when he grabbed me—it wasn't a choice. I do have that fighter in me."
