News of Janet Jackson's pregnancy first broke in May, but since then the singer has been having a tough time.

The "BURNITUP!" songstress, 50, is expecting her first child with husband Wissam Al Mana, but a source tells E! News that her pregnancy hasn't been easy. "Janet isn't feeling that great. She has gained more weight than she anticipated," the insider shares. "It hasn't been the easiest pregnancy at all. She is excited to have her baby, and that's the light at the end of this tunnel."

Because of her age, Janet's primary concern is having a healthy baby, so she's remains under her doctor's care. Since E! News previously reported, Janet's health has improved but she still feels "very tired and sluggish," the source explains. Fortunately, her "husband, family and friends have been very helpful during her pregnancy."

The "Dammn Baby" singer and her baby bump were spotted in Central London this week for the first time in months. Janet entered Back in Action, which is a back pain solutions store for expecting mothers. Earlier this month Janet was put under "doctor's orders to rest" until the baby arrives.

"She is doing OK and resting until she is due for her baby," another insider explained. Her bed rest orders came after Janet experienced some complications, but added that she would be just fine. "[Janet] is aware of complications, but as of now doctors say she is OK."

Back in May, E! News reported that Jackson was preparing to start a family, an announcement that came about a month after doctors ordered the performer to postpone her Unbreakable world tour. At the time, a source told E! News that Janet was in the second trimester of her pregnancy and that she and her husband had been working with a fertility specialist for quite a while.

Janet's brother Tito Jackson also squashed rumors that Janet was using a surrogate, telling Andy Cohen that she's "very pregnant."
