Lifetime's Britney Spears movie will be full of many famous faces. Well, many people playing famous faces. E! News has confirmed the cast of characters in Britney will include Justin Timberlake, Kevin Federline, Jenna Dewan-Tatum and Wade Robson.
Natasha Bassett is playing Britney Spears with Nathan Keyes as Justin Timberlake, Clayton Chitty as Kevin Federline, Peter Benson as Larry Rudolph, Tamara Thorsen as Jenna Dewan-Tatum, Markian Tarasiuk as Wade Robson and Kelly McCabe as Jason Alexander. Nicole Oliver will play Spears' mom, Lynn Spears, and Matthew Harrison will take on the role of father Jamie Spears.
Production on the movie is underway with Lifetime targeting a 2017 premiere date. BuzzFeed first reported the casting.
The two-hour movie will follow Spears' relationship with Timberlake and how the divorce of her parents and tabloid breakup affected her. And then there's the quickie wedding she had to childhood friend Alexander and relationship with Federline, public breakdown and return to the spotlight. Lot to cover in two hours.
How does Dewan-Tatum factor in? She was a back-up dancer for *NSYNC at the time Spears and Timberlake were together. Robson is a choreographer who worked with both and Rudolph is Spears' manager.
Steven Michaels, Jonathan Koch and Joan Harrison are executive producing. Leslie Libman is directed a script by Anne-Marie Hess.
"Britney Spears will not be contributing in any way, shape or form to the lifetime biopic nor does it have her blessing," Spears' rep told E! News when the Lifetime movie was announced.
