The coroner today confirmed the grim news suspected for months: Paula Goodspeed, the American Idol fan found dead outside of Paula Abdul's home, committed suicide.

Goodspeed’s death was ruled a suicide due to "acute multiple prescription drug intoxication"—that is, an overdose of prescription drugs—Los Angeles Coroner spokesman Ed Winter tells E! News. The specific types of drugs found in Goodspeed’s body will not be disclosed.

The two-time Idol auditioner was found in her car outside Abdul's L.A.-area estate Nov. 11. An autopsy was completed less than a week later, but the announcement of the cause of death was not, pending the results of the toxicology screening.

Winter says Goodspeed did not leave a suicide note. She did, however, have a history of mental illness, failed suicide attempts and hounding Abdul.
