Happy presidential debate face-off challenge night!

For some reason, the DWTS stars did not dress as dancing presidents as they competed against other stars for immunity, which if you ask us is a real missed opportunity. We could have seen Ryan Lochte dressed as Teddy Roosevelt! Rick Perry could have finally gotten the chance to play the POTUS! It could have been beautiful!

Anyway, instead of doing that, tonight's debate-shortened hour of Dancing with the Stars had couples of couples competing for immunity in tomorrow night's elimination by dancing in the same style. It was great, we liked it, and this would be a great thing for this show to adopt more often.

Anyway, we've got some ears to contemplate tearing off during tonight's debate, so let's get to it.

ABC

Jana Kramer and Gleb Savchenko: 26/40
Babyface and Allison Holker: 25/40
Winner: Jana and Gleb

We weren't really all that into either of these tonight, but they were a good match, based on how the scores were one point apart. So there's that!

ABC

Rick Perry and Emma Slater: 23/40
Vanilla Ice and Witney Carson: 23/40
Winner: Vanilla and Witney

If you needed any other indication that we're currently living in the strangest timeline, consider the fact that tonight, Rick Perry faced off against Vanilla Ice in a paso doble competition. Len Goodman said it best when he chose the winner: "I've gotta give it to you, Vanilla."

ABC

James Hinchcliffe and Sharna Burgess: 29/40
Ryan Lochte and Cheryl Burke: 25/40
Winner: James and Sharna

What a mismatched joke. James was one of the best dancers in the first week, and Ryan has been middle to worst. The fact that Len gave them both the same score of 6 is kind of making us wonder if these scores mean anything at all or if everything is just totally meaningless.

ABC

Terra Jole and Sasha Farber: 30/40
Calvin Johnson and Lindsay Arnold: 32/40
Winner: Calvin and Lindsay

Where have you been all this time, Calvin?! Terra was great but that was such unexpected smoothness from Megatron that we're not surprised he had the highest score of the night.

ABC

Amber Rose and Maks Chmerkovskiy: 25/40
Maureen McCormick and Artem Chigvintsev: 28/40
Winner: Maureen and Artem

OK, this is the second week in a row that Amber's dance was obscured by a ridiculous amount of ~things~ going on around her. Why the wig? Why the props? Why the set? None of this is necessary!

Dancing with the Stars, GIF

ABC

Laurie Hernandez and Val Chmerkovskiy: 31/40
Marilu Henner and Derek Hough: 28/40
Winner: Laurie and Val

This was also a supremely unfair match, because Laurie's a magical dancing deer who floats high above the rest of the competition, no matter how good they are. Marilu's tango was good, but not Laurie good.

Who had your favorite dances? Who's going home tomorrow? Sound off in the comments!

Dancing with the Stars airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
