Halstead and Lindsay, living in a house…

It might be time for our two Chicago cops to live happily ever after on Chicago P.D. this year, star Jesse Lee Soffer teased to E! News when discussing season four of his NBC drama with us this summer. "We might be domesticating the relationship," he revealed on the red carpet at NBC's Television Critics Association summer press tour.

But there's one major factor involved in that decision for Halstead and Lindsay (Sophia Bush) to actually move in together: Voight (Jason Beghe). "We'll see if Voight lets that happen. Actually no, I think Voight's OK with that now, but we'll see," he said. "They might move in and they might start a family one day! Who knows?"

There's also that other huge event hanging over their heads: The fact that Voight killed the man responsible for his son's death, the fallout from which will take front and center as season four of the show begins.

"Lindsay's going to be there to take care of him and Halstead's going to have to pick up the pieces, so we'll see," Soffer says—so Linstead might not get their happily ever after just yet. "The darkness might interfere."

Watch the video above for more scoop on potential goodbyes and new cast members as season four gets underway, plus Soffer's thoughts on a potential four-show crossover with every One Chicago show (including new spinoff Chicago Justice).

Chicago P.D. airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. on NBC.

(E! and NBC are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
