It's True Crime Week over at E! News, so what better way to celebrate than with a look back at television stars' most unforgettable roles in the captivating genre?

TV junkies will understand the importance of a good 'ole Lifetime movie marathon, especially with the likes of Hayden Panettiere taking on the role of Amanda Knox, the American student on exchange in Italy tried and later acquitted for the 2007 murder of her roommate, and Rob Lowe's creepy portrayal of Drew Peterson, whose involvement in the death of his fourth wife has never been solved nearly a decade later.

Then there's Sarah Paulson, who won her first Emmy for her stunning performance as famed prosecutor Marcia Clark in the wildly popular FX series, The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story. Co-stars Courtney B. Vance and Sterling K. Brown were also honored with awards during the 2016 telecast, further cementing the genre's status in TV history.
