ABCHe may not be on your TV screens week after week, but that didn't prevent John Mayer from scoring an invite to the 2016 Emmys.
While awards were being handed out Sunday night at the Microsoft Theater, viewers may have heard the smooth tunes of a piano, guitar and other instruments.
As fans quickly discovered in the second hour of the broadcast, John was a huge part of the Emmy Awards band.
After Tom Hiddleston helped present an award, the cameras panned to the musicians who were playing us out to a commercial break.
And if you're wondering what John was up too, he was rocking out with his red guitar while opting for a suit with no tie.
"How about this band everybody? Steve Jordan, John Mayer, everyone of these musicians is a great musician," host Jimmy Kimmel joked later in the show. "And to reward them, we put them in a hole. Thank you, fellas."
"I'm here now," John added on Snapchat shortly before the show began. And yes, we totally spotted the "Your Body Is a Wonderland" star using a makeup brush before heading to his position.
John isn't the only talented performer in attendance at Sunday's awards show. "Nobody Love" singer Tori Kelly is expected to honor talented stars we've lost in the annual In Memoriam segment. Stay tuned!
