The first trailer for Fifty Shades Darker was finally released on Tuesday, and it definitely piqued our interest, giving us even more of a reason to be excited ahead of its February 2017 release.
The clip offers a look at what's to come from the second installment of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele's romance, which we thought might have been over, according to the end of the first film. But, obviously, with two other movies already in the books, we figured the hot-and-cold couple couldn't stay apart for too long—and this trailer is proof of that.
But while that may be clarified, the clip has sparked many more questions for those who haven't read the books, and we're dying to get them answered...
What's in the Box? While we're hoping this box contains nothing like that one scene with Brad Pitt from Seven, we can't help but feel an overwhelming ominous sensation as the trailer opens with this mystery moment.
How Does Christian Win Ana Back? Ana receives a huge bouquet of flowers as we hear Christian's voice echo, "I want you back." However, we don't know how he managed to scoop her into his arms once more.
What Will Transpire at the Masquerade? The costume party seems to mark a pivotal point in the film, and it doesn't seem good...after all, anything involving hidden identities and masks feels a bit dangerous.
Why Are There Photos of Ana Everywhere? We see hints of Ana everywhere throughout the trailer: from the entrance of the masquerade to a museum where she meets Christian.
Who are the Newcomers? Kim Basinger and Bella Heathcote both join Dornan and Johnson in this film. While we know Basinger will play a Mrs. Robinson-esque seductress and Heathcote one of Christian's former submissives, we can't wait to see how they'll affect the plot.
Can Christian Abide by Ana's Rules? When she rekindles with Christian, Ana makes three requests: "No rules, no punishments and no more secrets." However, with a history like his, we're unsure if Christian can uphold them.
Will It All Blow Up? Fireworks are a reoccurring theme in trailer, and we can't help but wonder if this signifies that something might explode between Ana and Christian.
Why Is Ana Wearing Clothes in the Shower? But in all seriousness, clothed or not, why are shower scenes so sexy?!
Why Is Ana Being Followed? We watch as a confrontation develops between Ana and another man in her office. Ana and Christian are also confronted by several men in suits following the masquerade. Later in the trailer, she's presented a file that reveals all of her information, including recent photos, proving someone has been watching her...
What Happened to This Other Woman? Christian's former submissive makes several creepy appearances throughout the trailer. We know she's going through some type of mental breakdown, but we don't know what transpired with Christian that lead her to act this way.
Why Is Jamie Dornan So Hot Though? This is a question we'll forever ponder.
We can't wait to have all of these questions answered come Valentine's Day when Fifty Shades Darker hits theaters.
