Is American Horror Story season six really a perfect illusion?

For the first time in the FX hit's history, the theme for the new season, premiering on Wednesday, Sept. 14, has yet to be revealed, with fake-out teasers being released to throw fans off the scent. It's safe to say the marketing campaign has been a perfect illusion...which just so happens to be the name of Lady Gaga's new single.

"Perfect Illusion" was released by the pop star on Thursday night, the latest promo for AHS was released soon after. Does this mean there could there be a clue hidden in the song to the new season, which Lady Gaga will appear in after winning a Golden Globe for her turn in season five, AHS: Hotel

In the 30-second clip, many of the short teasers that have been released appear while "Perfect Illusion"is played. The tweet accompanying the promo? "Has it all been a Perfect Illusion? The truth is revealed Wednesday. #AHS6." Less than one week until we FINALLY have answers, AHS fans.

OK, so it's likely Gaga's new song, which many have speculated is about longtime beau Taylor Kinney, after the couple called off their engagement in July, but still, we're considering it evidence until we hear otherwise. Ignorance is bliss, y'all.

So what do we know about season six? Well, according to the Internet, the theme will be "The Mist," which is one of the many teasers that was released (and it's included in the video above), and features a gross creature emerging from the distance while scuttling down some mist-covered railroad tracks.

Of the sneaky marketing campaign, FX boss John Landgraf said, "They went out and made many more trailers than you've actually seen for...different genres and different places. I just love it on an artistic level. One of them is accurate, the others are all misdirects."

Along with Lady Gaga, Angela Bassett, Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters are all set to return.

American Horror Story season six premieres on Wednesday, Sept. 14 on FX.
