Watch: Shailene Woodley Talks Opting Out of "Divergent" TV Series

If you were still holding out hope that Shailene Woodley might be on board with the plan to take the final film in the Divergent series to TV, you might not like what we're about to tell you.

There's basically a zero percent chance of that ever happening.

E! News' Erin Lim sat down with the actress, currently making the press rounds for her role in the new film Snowden, and she made it abundantly clear that she has no desire to follow the franchise to the small screen.

"From what I know, they want to proceed with a television show, which is not something that I signed up to do," Woodley admitted. "Out of respect to the whole scenario, there could be things that have changed, but I didn't sign up to do a TV show." It sounds like Lionsgate better begin looking for a new Tris.

When the unorthodox plan was first revealed, Variety reported that, following the disappointing box office performance of third movie Allegiant, the studio was rethinking plans to release the final installment theatrically. Rather, they hoped to release Ascendant as a TV movie, which would be followed up by a standalone series featuring new characters introduced in the TV movie.

Woodley isn't the only Divergent star who isn't too keen on making the leap to the small screen. Miles Teller echoed her sentiments. "At this point, it's a different set of circumstances. We'll see. I honestly haven't talked to anybody," he told THR, adding, "We all signed on for it in hopes that it'd be released in theaters, and we all had every intention of finishing [the franchise]."
