There was just so much to admire from tonight's Opening Ceremony at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
From the ornamental display of Brazil's history to Gisele Bündchen's catwalk and dance party to seeing the Olympians' faces from each region as they proudly stepped out into the stadium to represent their home country, there really wasn't a second gone unappreciated.
But we also couldn't help but take a moment to highlight some of the fashion of the night. Now, keep in mind, with over 200 countries competing, we saw a lot of elaborate style enter that Rio arena, but these few really captured our eye for various reasons.
So, while we admired the diverse threads that we saw tonight (and topless oiled bodies), we just had to give a quick shout-out to these eight countries real quick:
1. Colombia: Between that pop of yellow and those hats, what's not to love?
2. Brazil: We are just such a fan of these patterned dresses! Not to mention all the energy this group brought when closing out the opening ceremony in their homeland.
3. South Africa: If the Ninja Turtles and Power Rangers combined their wardrobes and then had a super power that included swaggy dance skills, this is what we'd get.
4. Burundi: It was hard to look away from the elaborate and gorgeous traditional dress the Burundi team wore for the ceremony.
5. Barbados: There's only one other group of people we love to see in blue and gold.
6. Benin: The headwear, you guys. Look at their headwear.
7. Australia: Anyone else getting like a if-Harry-Potter-went-tropical vibe from these uniforms?
8. Jamaica: Never mind the bright colors, look at the flagbearer's amazing hair!
