Adele recently went through an embarrassing experience that many of us are probably all too familiar with—a credit card getting declined. While shopping at an H&M store, Adele was unable to walk away with her budget-friendly goods because her credit card didn't go through. "I went to H&M and my card got declined," the Grammy winner shared during her Sunday concert in San Jose, Calif. "Oh, my days, pretty embarrassing."
Despite being named Forbes' ninth highest-paid celebrity in the world, Adele couldn't escape the awkward moment. But somehow no employee noticed that it was the "Hello" songstress getting denied. "Nobody knew it was me," she added, "but I was mortified."
Considering the star musician earned $80.5 million in 2016, we're sure she was able to afford her H&M baubles, but maybe it's all those shopping trips to Target and CVS that are weighing her down LOL. Adele has made it well known that she loves her superstores. "They have everything!" the "When We Were Young" singer said during her concert. "Literally I spent $100 on stuff I do not need, I never need anything I buy at Target, but it's amazing."
She also dished that one of her favorite activities to do in Los Angeles is to head to the closest In-N-Out Burger to grab a delicious bite to eat. While traveling across the U.S., Adele has come to experience some of the country's most notable attractions such as the Mall of America.
"I have never seen anything like it," she said of the Minnesota shopping center. "I mean, I know you in America do everything bigger and better but there is an amusement park in there!"
