If everybody can decide on one thing about The Good Wife series finale it's that it was divisive.

Fans are certainly divided on the ending that saw Julianna Margulies' Alicia Florrick basically throw it all away for her husband (played by Chris Noth) one final time. She threw Diane Lockhart's (Christine Baranski) marriage under the bus and derailed her relationship with Jeffrey Dean Morgan's Jason.

"I thought it was exactly how it should end," Margulies recently told E! News. "I know a lot of people were upset by it...I think it's—she's going on to do her thing. She's not cowering behind a slap."

Now it's Morgan's turn to weigh in.

"I didn't like it. But it's not my show, you know what I mean? If Julianna was happy, then I was happy. My feeling was we raised so many questions about Jason and this relationship that he had with Alicia that I felt like nothing was ever answered, you know? So I walked away frustrated for my character and Alicia's character in not having any kind of closure with that," Morgan told Entertainment Weekly.

Morgan, who is now a series regular on The Walking Dead as the nefarious Negan, admitted he hasn't seen the finale, he only read it.

"I know that I got a call two weeks later after we wrapped and I was already in Atlanta, and they were like, ‘We want to do a little bit of a reshoot,' and I couldn't do it. I was like, ‘I film tomorrow,' so there's no way I could get back in. I don't know what that would have consisted of. I don't think anything that would have changed the story dramatically or anything," he said. "I like that it kind of brought her back to beginning — that slap —and it was a kind of a role reversal there. Selfishly, I would have liked to see Jason and Alicia have some sort of answers for the audience and themselves. So I don't know. I don't know what happened. People loved that couple so much and then it looks like he maybe just took off. Maybe that's just in his nature, I guess?"

Jeffrey Dean Morgan, he's just like you and has some qualms with The Good Wife's final season. However, while he admitted he wasn't thrilled that parts of his story regarding his temper were dropped, he said he's aware his dislike for the story is "all selfish."

"I wasn't happy with the ending because I wasn't happy with Jason. So that's not a very fair assessment for the audience or for [creators Michelle and Robert King], who are obviously brilliant," he said. "They had an idea how this show was going to end and I guess we saw what it was."

Fans may get a chance to see if Morgan's character returned to Alicia. The Good Wife is getting a spinoff about Baranski's Lockhart and season seven addition Cush Jumbo's Lucca Quinn on CBS All Access. The untitled series picks up a year after the series finale and may feature an appearance by Margulies.
