Whoopi Goldberg is really clearing the air.

The View co-host took to Twitter Wednesday morning to dispel rumors that she has anything to do with the talk show's hiring or firing policy after a Daily Mail report claimed Paula Faris' appearances were reduced at Goldberg's behest. In a lengthy rant, Goldberg explained she would never stoop to "mean girl" levels.

"Contrary to what u might read in the I do NOT run ABC nor do I own or produce, not involved in hiring4 the View so don't send ur resumes," she began. "I'm not responsible 4 firing or moving people around or negotiating my coworkers contracts. I LIKE having a gig and as much as I'd like to Rule the entire universe, I have enough to do in my life than to take mean girl pleasure at some one else WRONGLY perceived change."

While calling out the publication specifically, the Oscar winner also explained that years in the entertainment industry have taught her how to act because of the chance that someone might talk to the press. "Also daily mail knowing that people talk A lot do you honestly think I would talk or act in such a way that would give u ANY ability to know Anything I think??," she continued tweeting.

"No daily mail I wouldn't, so if your going to continue to accuse me of doing this kind of thing could you make something Someone my age would do. For goodness sake the only botch fest is the one in talks minds.no fight here just clearing up an untruth."

The story in question claimed Faris' appearances were reduced after focus group feedback research was the "lowest" since Elisabeth Hasselbeck. Apparently Faris flipped out in a closed-door meeting, claiming the decision was "a bunch of bull" and "Whoopi's doing."

"She is adamant that the network bowed to pressure from Whoopi to get rid of Paula as part of her negotiations to return for Season 20," a source told the Daily Mail.

According to Goldberg, however, that doesn't seem to be the case. The View has seen many come and go throughout its many seasons, with the most recent departure being Michelle Collins. Goldberg, however, recently announced she'll be returning for another season. A source also tells E! News that Faris will be back. "Paula is a great addition to the team, and she'll absolutely be back as a co-host next season," the insider says.
