Empire's Terrence Howard Sued by Management Firm for $250,000

Complaint was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court

Terrence Howard is being sued by his former talent management company for $250,000 as they claim that the Empire actor has breached their contract.

Authentic Talent and Literary Management filed a formal complaint today in Los Angeles Superior Court claiming that Howard owes them a quarter of a million dollars for failing to pay them their share of commission after they parted ways with the TV star.

According to the lawsuit at hand, the management company claims that they played "a key role in the resurgence of Howard's career" and provided him with "professional, personal and other advice and career guidance."

After Howard accepted the role of Lucious Lyon on the Fox program, he fired Authentic Talent and Literary Management.

The company now claims that they are entitled to 10% of revenue that Howard received while he was working with them, and that includes his Empire salary.

Authentic Talent and Literary Management hired Mathew Rosengart for the lawsuit, the same lawyer who represented Sean Penn in the defamation lawsuit against Lee Daniels.

The Empire co-creator previously compared Howard to Penn, which sparked the legal battle.

Penn subsequently settled the $10 million dollar lawsuit against Daniels after the director and producer apologized and made a donation to Penn's charity helping those in Haiti. Howard's rep did not return initial request for comment.
