It's about time you show your stripes.

Sure, it's a year-round trend that's always appropriate, but celebs are just now inspiring us to line things up in fresh, fun ways.

Leave it to Olivia Palermo to show us how to do pin stripes, the street-style way. What used to be pressed, buttoned up and relegated to the boardroom is now easy, breezy and oh-so comfortable for everyday wear. Just make sure the thin stripes are featured in a slouchy silhouette, and if wearing pants, crop the hem.

Jenna Dewan Tatum, for example, has sweet summer style down pat—in an affordable black-and-white frock from Target, no less. Think horizontal stripes are unflattering? Pair the pattern with an A-line silhouette, so it gives you an illusion of a cinched-in waist. Baring your sleek shoulders will also help ground those lines.

Gigi Hadid may look like she's ready for fall, but the foundation of her look is summer-ready all the way. Pair a Briton shirt with high-waisted white jeans or pants, and you're set for any BBQ, boat party or picnic in your future.

Singer-songwriter Pixie Lott is a-head of the celeb curve with this trend, wearing a striped topper to elevate her very classic, simple outfit. To add a bit more interest, opt for a pop of color with your accessories, like Pixie's Kelly-green bag.

Stripes and casual wear go hand-in-hand. But when you want to dress up a look, use structural pieces, like Olivia Munn's bag and over-the-knee boots, to elevate any laid-back vibes.
