Watch: Winona Ryder & Millie Bobby Brown on "Stranger Things" Success

The pixie cut is back...and we have a 12-year-old to thank.

To play the quickly-approaching-iconic role of Eleven in Stranger Things, Netflix's breakout hit of the summer, the young British star shaved her head, telling E! News she drew inspiration from Charlize Theron in Mad Max:Fury Road...as well as one of her co-star's old yearbook photos. That co-star being Winona Ryder.

"I showed you my school picture!" Ryder said to Brown when her buzz-cut came up, with Brown saying, "Winona looked cool back in the day with the pixie cut and I thought maybe I could bring it back!"

And bring it back she has, as Ryder gushed that she thought Brown's look was "so cool, very rock n roll...I thought she looked awesome!"

In an interview with Allure, where you can see the black and white school pic, Ryder discussed her 1985 yearbook photo, explaining she was in seventh grade and "obsessed with Bugsy Malone but also very into the Clash and the Replacements. I believe my friend cut my hair, and I remember reading somewhere that if you mixed beer and egg whites and put it in your hair, you could get it spiky like that. Of course, I could never get any beer because I was 12."

Of course, Ryder has had many iconic looks and roles since 1985, so we were curious to know which movie she's most recognized for by fans.

"It's actually quite touching when people bring up Girl, Interrupted, like when a young woman will say something like that," she said. "Heathers comes up a lot, Little Women...so it's very, very sweet, and means a lot to me."

Even Brown admitted to having a favorite Ryder role, which you can press play on the video above to hear all about. Plus, the Stranger Things stars dish on the possibility of a second season.

Stranger Things season one is available to stream on Netflix.
