Let's go down the rabbit hole, shall we?
On July 26, 1951, Disney's Alice in Wonderland introduced audiences to a wonderful fantasy world. Given the film's enduring popularity, it would seem many moviegoers have never returned to reality. Sixty-five years after its release, the animated cult classic—based on Lewis Carroll's Alice books—remains a fan favorite that has inspired theme park attractions and live-action film adaptations (starring Helena Bonham Carter, Johnny Depp and Mia Wasikowska).
Walt Disney had been trying to adapt Alice in Wonderland for the big screen since the 1930s. When it finally hit theaters, the studio's 13th animated feature included the voice talents of Kathryn Beaumont, Verna Felton, Richard Haydn, Sterling Holloway, Ed Wynn and many other stars. Les Clark, Marc Davis, Norm Ferguson, Ollie Johnston, Milt Kahl, Ward Kimball, Eric Larson, John Lounsbery, Wolfgang Reitherman and Frank Thomas were some of its animators.
