Zoe Saldana is with her and him.

Just hours after Hillary Clinton announced that she chose Sen. Tim Kaine as her vice presidential running mate, the Star Trek Beyond star weighed in on the freshly-minted democratic ticket.

"I was hearing him talk today and I like what he had to say," Saldana told me while promoting the Guardians of the Galaxy sequel at Comic-Con. "I think he's very much into the direction that Hillary would like to take as president. So I feel like he's really a great compliment for her and they would make a good team. I'm looking forward to watching the Democratic National Convention."

This election also marks the first time that Saldana's husband Marco Saldana (he took her name shortly after getting married about three years ago) will be able to vote—he became a U.S. citizen just five days ago.

Zoe documented the milestone with photos on her Instagram. "It just felt, especially this year, we wanted to share this because we know that there are many, many people that aren't as fortunate to be able to become citizens," Zoe told me at the Star Trek Beyond premiere on Wednesday. "But I want to encourage them and implore them to never give up."
