Watch: Zachary Quinto's Ring Causes a Stir

Zachary Quinto sent his fans into a tizzy recently when he started wearing what many speculated was some sort of wedding or engagement ring.

The silver band was first seen on that finger in a photo Quinto posted on Twitter on July 12. The caption didn't announce any big news for him and his model boyfriend of about two years Miles McMillan, but was actually a sponsored ad for Amazon Prime.

I asked Quinto tonight at the Comic-Con premiere of Star Trek Beyond if he was engaged or married.

"I'm just wearing a ring, man," Quinto said "It's the only finger this ring fits on."

Oh?

"I like to keep them guessing," he said of his inquisitive fans. "I don't know, we'll see what happens."

Quinto confirmed he and McMillan, who attended tonight's Star Trek premiere, were indeed a couple when he posted a photo of McMillan on Instagram in August 2014 with a caption referring to him as "my real life baby."

Just last month, the actor posted a paparazzi photo on Instagram of him and McMillan, 27, holding hands while walking their dogs Noah and Skunk in New York City on his 39th birthday with a caption reading, "i never post paparazzi pics - but this one captures the joy of the amazing birthday morning family walk which lead to an incredible day full of gratitude and creativity and love."

Quinto is not only promoting Star Trek Beyond while at Comic-Con, but tomorrow he'll also be on hand for Snowden, the Oliver Stone-directed drama about Edward Snowden, the former CIA employee who leaked classified information to the press. Quinto plays journalist Glenn Greenwald in the film.

The Star Trek Beyond premiere took place outdoors at San Diego's Embarcadero Marina Park South and included an orchestra, a fireworks display and an emotional moment of silence for the late actor Anton Yelchin.

Star Trek Beyond is in theaters on Friday.
