Pippa Middleton and James Matthews didn't wait long to get engaged, but that doesn't come as a surprise to some.

The couple, who announced their engagement earlier this week, are said to be the perfect "love match," an insider tells E! News. "They've always had sizzling chemistry. He's now 40 and ready to settle down." Although the engagement didn't come as a surprise to some, it caught Kate Middleton's sister off guard.

"She's over the moon as she definitely didn't expect an engagement so soon! While there is talk the wedding could be next year, Pippa has always been keen that her own nuptials are vey different to her sister's," the source adds. Pippa doesn't want her wedding to be compared to the royal wedding—and who would blame her?!—so the source says she's debating having a winter wedding to "immediately avoid any inevitable comparisons."

In their announcement, Pippa and James said they would be getting married next year, which means we'll have to wait until 2017 to see the world's most famous bridesmaid become a bride! Until then, though, we can continue to get glimpses of her gorgeous engagement ring, which has been speculated to be from Robinson Pelham. The London jeweler would not comment on the ring or its private clients, but Robinson Pelham is a regular source of jewelry for the Middleton family.

Perhaps most famously, the Middletons purchased a pair of diamond earrings for their daughter, the Duchess of Cambridge, to wear on her wedding day. Carole Middleton has also worn pieces from the jeweler.

Los Angeles Jeweler Adam Campbell told E! News that Pippa's ring "looks about 3-4 carats. I'd say 3.5. Looks very clean. Seems to be an octagonal Asscher-wrapped step-cut with round brilliance set in platinum."

As for the price tag on Pippa's sparkler, Campbell said it "could be anywhere from $45,000 to, highest I'd say would be, $175,000. It really depends who is selling it."
