Katy Perry Stays Out of Taylor Swift and Kim Kardashian's "Famous" Feud

Calvin Harris called out Taylor Swift on Twitter last week for "This Is What You Came For," and along the way he compared himself to Katy Perry, whom he claimed Taylor tried to "bury."

As the rant, which took place after Taylor revealed she wrote Harris' hit single with Rihanna, unfolded, people waited to see if the "Roar" songstress would respond—and respond she did. Katy simply tweeted a GIF and retweeted one of her own posts from 2015.

But come Sunday night, an entirely different feud would resurface: Kim Kardashian-Kanye West vs. Taylor. In Kim's GQ profile released earlier this summer, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star called out Taylor for her Grammys speech in which she threw shade at Kanye for taking credit for her fame thanks to the song "Famous." Kim claimed that her husband not only called Taylor for approval of the lyrics but also that she had recorded footage of the conversation. Well, last night, the world got to see that famous (pun intended) footage courtesy of Kim's Snapchat.

The E! reality star shared the video of Kanye asking Taylor for permission and Taylor's approving response. "Umm, yeah go with whatever line you think is better," Taylor said in the video. "It's obviously very tongue in cheek either way. And I really appreciate you telling me about it, that's really nice."

She continued, "I really appreciate it, the heads up is so nice. Even asking or seeing if I would be okay with it and I really appreciate it. I would never expect you to like tell me about a line in one of your songs."

Back in February, Taylor's rep said in a statement to E! News that "Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single 'Famous' on her Twitter account. She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message. Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, 'I made that bitch famous.'"

Kim didn't post audio or video of Taylor approving the lyrics "I made that bitch famous."

When the drama unfolded Sunday night, celebrities such as Chloe Grace Moretz and Ruby Rose took Taylor's side, so would Katy come out in favor of Kim in this feud? Not so fast. Although the "Firework" singer seemingly supported Calvin during his rant, Katy decided to stay out of the Taylor-Kim saga. Instead of chiming in with a subtle tweet, Katy promoted her new single for the Olympics, "Rise."

"#RISE above it all," she tweeted, including a link to download her inspirational track.

Double meaning? Perhaps. But it looks like Katy is staying out of this one.
