Watch: Winona Ryder Works on First Series "Stranger Things"

Winona Ryder is making her Netflix series debut with the new series Stranger Things, out Friday, July 15, but she's no stranger to binging TV shows.

"I tend to binge watch shows that were on a long time ago, but I don't know that, so I start telling everybody," Ryder told E! News' Will Marfuggi at the Stranger Things premiere. "Like I love Damages and I thought it was still on…and I was like, 'There's this great show, Damages,' but it was over a long time ago."

We feel you, Winona. Damages, which starred Glenn Close and Rose Byrne, is engrossing TV and well worth a watch. Another show on the Oscar nominee's list? Netflix's The Fall. Ryder praised Gillian Anderson's performance in the crime series about a detective (Anderson) on the hunt for a serial killer (Jamie Dornan). Nobody tell Ryder The Fall just has one more season left. However, from the sounds of it, we'd really like to take a peek at Ryder's Netflix queue because so far she's two-for-two with solid TV choices.

In Stranger Things, Ryder goes back to the 1980s. The series follows follows the search for a young boy who disappears under very suspicious circumstances. Ryder plays Joyce Byers, the boy's mother. As she gets deeper and deeper into his disappearance, things start to unravel and top-secret government experiments are discovered.

"This is my first series actually and it was great…It was a different kind of role for me," she said. "I've never done this genre…As you get older as an actress you want to try different things. You don't want to keep repeating yourself. I'm 44, so it was nice to play my own age."
