Beyoncé & Adele Are One Step Closer to an EGOT After 2016 Emmy Nods: See Who Has One and Who Almost Does

Find out who actually has one and who has come close to obtaining such an honor

BeyoncéAdele and Cuba Gooding Jr.'s 2016 Emmy nominations mean more than just the possibility of winning another award.

The three are now one step closer to being EGOT winners—aka winners of a Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony.

Beyoncé is nominated for her third Emmy, for co-directing her HBO visual album and film Lemonade. She has won 17 Grammys as a solo artist and three with Destiny's Child.

Adele is nominated for her first Emmy, for Outstanding Variety Special for Adele Live in New York City. The singer has two out of the four EGOT awards; She won her first and only Oscar in 2013, for her theme song to the James Bond movie Skyfall, and has also received 10 Grammys since 2008.

Gooding Jr. is nominated for his first Emmy as well, for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie for his leading role in The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story. He previously won an Oscar in 1997 for his part in Jerry Maguire.

EGOT-Winning Stars: Only 12 stars are EGOT honorees. The list includes Audrey Hepburn, Rita MorenoWhoopi Goldberg and Mel Brooks.

In 1954, Hepburn, one of the most famous Hollywood actresses of all time, won an Oscar for her leading role in Roman Holiday and She won a Tony that year for Ondine.

In 1993, she won an Emmy in 1993 for Outstanding Individual Achievement—Informational Programming for Gardens of the World with Audrey Hepburn and a Grammy for Best Spoken Word Album For Children for Audrey Hepburn's Enchanted Tales. Hepburn died that year at age 63 and was honored posthumously with the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award at the 1993 Oscars.

Moreno, a veteran musical performer, received an Oscar for her performance in the1961 movie West Side Story and two Emmys in the '70s for appearances on The Muppet Show and The Rockford Files. In 1972, she and Bill Cosby both received the Grammy for Best Recording for Children for The Electric Company. Moreno won a Tony in 1975 for The Ritz.

Goldberg is a non-traditional EGOT winner, as she received two Daytime Emmys, including one for The View (and has been nominated for a Primetime Emmy nine times), an Oscar for her role in the 1991 film Ghost, a Grammy in 1985 for a recording of her Broadway show and a 2002 Tony for co-producing the musical Thoroughly Modern Millie.

Brooks, creator of The Producers musical, has won four Emmys, an Oscar for screenwriting for his 1967 comedy film that inspired the musical and a 2005 movie revival, plus three Grammys and three individual Tonys.

Emmy + Oscar (EO): The list includes Anne Hathaway, who won a 2013 Oscar for Les Miserables and a 2010 Emmy for her work on The Simpsons, and Helen Hunt, who won an Oscar in 2013 for The Sessions and four Emmys for Mad About You.

Emmy + Tony (ET): The list includes Neil Patrick Harris, Hugh Jackman and Bryan Cranston.

Harris won a Tony for his performance in the rock musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch, three Emmys for hosting the Tonys and one for his guest appearance on Glee.

Jackman won an Emmy for hosting the Tonys in 2005 and received an individual Tony Award in 2004 for his performance in The Boy from Oz.

Cranston received four Emmys for his role in Breaking Bad and won a Tony in 2014 for the play All The Way, in which he plays former president Lyndon B. Johnson. The actor is nominated for a 2016 Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie for HBO's TV film adaptation of All the Way.

Grammy + Oscar (GO): The list includes Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Hudson and Sam Smith.

Foxx won an Oscar for his performance in the 2004 film Ray and shared a Grammy in 2009 with T-Pain for Best R&B Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals for "Blame It."

Hudson won an Oscar for the 2007 musical film Dreamgirls and won a 2008 Grammy for Best R&B Album for her self-titled record.

Smith won an Oscar last year for his theme song for the James Bond movie Spectre and has four Grammys.

Oscar + Tony (OT): The list includes Catherine Zeta-Jones, who won a 2003 Oscar for Chicago and a 2010 Tony for A Little Night Music, and Denzel Washington, who won two Oscars, for Glory and Training Day, and a 2010 Tony for his work in the play Fences.

Emmy, Grammy + Oscar (EGO): The list includes Julie Andrews, Cher, Kate Winslet and Martin Scorsese.

Andrews won Emmys for The Julie Andrews Hour and Broadway: The American Musical, has been nominated for two Grammy and received an Oscar for Mary Poppins. She has come close to being an EGOT winner; She has been nominated for three Tonys.

Cher won an Emmy in 2003 for Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Special for Cher: The Farewell Tour, a 1999 Grammy for Best Dance Recording for her single "Believe" and an Oscar for her role in the 1987 movie Moonstruck.

Winslet received an Emmy for her performance in the 2011 HBO miniseries Mildred Pierce, a 1999 Grammy for co-narrating the children's album Listen To The Storyteller, and a 2009 Oscar for The Reader.

Scorsese has won three Emmys—one for directing a 2010 episode of Boardwalk Empire and two for the 2011 special George Harrison: Living in the Material World, a Grammy for directing the 2005 documentary No Direction Home: Bob Dylan, and an Oscar for directing the 2006 film The Departed

Emmy, Grammy + Tony (EGT): The list includes Lin-Manuel Miranda, Cyndi Lauper, Cynthia Nixon and Dick Van Dyke.

Miranda won his first Tony in 2008, for his musical In the Heights, and won two Tonys earlier this year for his work with his smash-hit musical Hamilton, which he recently left. He also won two Grammys, for both shows, and received an Emmy in 2014 for co-writing a song for the Tony Awards.

Lauper won an Emmy in 1995 for a guest appearance on Mad About You, two Tonys, including one for Best Musical Theater Album for the hit show Kinky Boots, and a 2013 Tony for her music for the musical.

Nixon won an Emmy in 2004 for her role as Miranda in Sex and the City and received another one in 2008 for a guest appearance on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. She won a Grammy for  Best Spoken Word Album for her work on the soundtrack for the Al Gore documentary An Inconvenient Truth and received a Tony in 2006 for her role in the play Rabbit Hole.

Veteran TV and musical performer Van Dyke has won four Emmys, shared a Grammy for Best Recording For Children with Andrews for the soundtrack to Mary Poppins and also received a 1961 Tony for his performance in Bye Bye Birdie.

Emmy, Oscar + Tony (EOT): The list includes Jeremy Irons, Helen Mirren, Al Pacino and Maggie Smith.

Irons has won three Emmys and was honored with an Oscar in 1991 for his leading role in Reversal of Fortune. He also received a 198 Tony for his work in the play The Real Thing.

Mirren is a four-time Emmy recipient who also won an Oscar 2007 for her performance in the movie The Queen. Last year, she won a Tony for her work in the play The Audience.

Pacino has won two Emmys, three Tonys and an Oscar for the 1992 film Scent of a Woman.

Smith has won three Emmys, including two for Downton Abbey, and is nominated for a fourth this year for her role. The British star has also won two Oscars, for The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie and California Suite, as well as a Tony in 1990 for her work in the play Lettice and Lovage.

Grammy, Oscar + Tony (GOT): The list includes musical giants Elton John, Stephen Sondheim and Andrew Lloyd Webber.

John has won five Grammys and three Tonys. He won an Oscar in 1995 for Best Music, Original Song for The Lion King.

Sondheim has won seven Grammys and nine Tonys, including for his musicals Into the Woods and Sweeney Todd. He received an Oscar in 1991 for Best Music, Original Song for the song "Sooner or Later (I Always Get My Man)" for the movie Dick Tracy.

Lloyd Webber has won three Grammys and three Tonys, including for his musicals Cats and Evita. He received an Oscar in 1997 for co-writing a the song "You Must Love Me" for the film adaptation of the latter, which starred Madonna. He was also nominated for two Oscars for movie versions of his hit shows Jesus Christ Superstar and The Phantom of the Opera.
