The wait is over, fans of The Flash, as Kid Flash is finally set to make his debut on the CW hit series, and E! News has your first look at the epic costume.
In the first photo from the upcoming third season, Kieynan Lonsdale gets to don a superhero suit of his own, suiting up as Kid Flash for the premier episode, "Flashpoint," airing on Oct. 4. Yes, after waiting almost an entire year since it was announced that Lonsdale would be joining the show in the key role of Wally West, fans' patience has been rewarded with the introduction of Kid Flash...along with an awesome costume, which definitely strikes a resemblance to the character's suit from the comics.
While Wally was introduced as Iris' (Candice Patton) long-lost brother on the show, in the DC Comics, Wally was actually Iris' nephew, who eventually became Kid Flash. So yeah, this photo is a big deal. HUGE.
"Just like when we met Grant [Gustin] for the first time, we instantly knew Keiynan embodied all the heart and courage of a hero," executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said in a statement after Lonsdale was cast in the pivotal role. "We are so excited to be bringing this much-beloved character onto the show."
In the season two finale, a devastated Barry (Gustin) made the rash decision to travel back in time and stop his mother's murder, completely changing the timeline as we know it, setting up season three to head in the direction of Flashpoint, the comic written by DC boss Geoff Johns and Andy Kubert. Gustin later confirmed that the show would be tackling Flashpoint's storyline, revealing on Twitter that the season three's premiere title would be "Flashpoint."
