Courtesy StarbucksThink about it. How could Starbucks employees not deserve this raise after all the shiz us customers put them through during the great rainbow drink saga of 2016. While they made for oodles of gorgeous pics, we can only imagine how confusing (and probably annoying) it was to make all of these goofy-ass custom orders. Like for real, if you click on the hashtag #PurpleDrink,#PinkDrink and the like, you'll be smacked in the face with an alarming number of floating arms holding drinks against summertime backgrounds.
The "increase in base pay" will come out to 5% or more starting in October of this year. This increase will affect all partners and store managers in the states.
Starbucks also noted on their blog, "Second, to recognize the contributions of our tenured partners in our ongoing success, we will be adding a future annual enhancement to our Bean Stock program. Specifically, we will be doubling the annual bean stock award for partners that reach two years of continuous service with the company."
"The combination of these changes will result in compensation increases between 5% and 15%. Our field leadership will be following up with market by market details in the coming weeks." In other words, everyone's getting a raise, and we couldn't be happier for them. After all, they're literally the people who save us from having a terrible day every day of the week.
Oh, did we mention they might be getting updated wardrobes as well? It appears the company is toying with the idea of a looser uniform that better reflects the clothing its employees might already have at home. More self-expression and a better paycheck? Time to go shopping, obvi.
