There were so many things Lin-Manuel Miranda hadn't done during his time in Hamilton...

Like get a haircut. The 36-year-old Tony-winning creator and star of the smash hit Broadway musical has swapped his trademark shoulder-length hairstyle for a new short 'do, which he debuted Saturday night at his after party following his final performance.

Miranda posted on his Twitter page a photo of what he leaves behind.

"Teach 'em how to say goodbye..." he wrote.

Hamilton, an unconventional, American history-themed hip-hop musical with a diverse cast, opened officially in August 2015 and remains the most sought-after show on Broadway whose tickets are near-impossible to obtain. The show won 11 Tony Awards in June, including Best Musical.

Miranda's final curtain call was set to the theme song of The West Wing and was livestreamed.

Performer Morgan Marcell also posted a video on her Instagram page.

After his last performance, Miranda greeted fans standing in the rain by the stage door by waving at them from a balcony.

Javier Muñoz, the actor's understudy, will take over his part of Alexander Hamilton full-time.

Meanwhile, Miranda is set to star in Disney's Mary Poppins Returns, his biggest onscreen role, with Emily Blunt. The movie is set for release in December 2018.
