Keeping up with the Kardashians now requires a visitor's pass.

Following a brief hearing today at Los Angeles Superior Court, Khloé Kardashian was taken into custody at 8:45 a.m. and booked seven minutes later, ostensibly to serve a 30-day jail sentence for violating her probation on a DUI charge.

The entire Kardashian clan, including sisters Kim and Kourtney and mother Kris Jenner, was on hand for support.

"You never want this to happen to your child," a choked-up Jenner told E! News.

LA County Sheriff's Department

The 24-year-old scenester and clothing boutique co-owner was sentenced Aug. 27 to 36 months' probation, and ordered to complete an alcohol-education program and community service. The penalty was handed down after she pleaded no contest to driving under the influence on March 4, 2007, according to Los Angeles City Attorney's Office spokesman Frank Mateljan.

An attorney for the Keeping Up With the Kardashians player admitted July 3 in L.A. Superior Court in Van Nuys that she had not completed the alcohol class or the community service.

Khloé was instructed to reenroll in the program, but she was ordered to spend 30 days behind bars—which, due to chronic overcrowding in L.A. County, will likely end up being more like three, at the most—for violating the terms of her probation.

The trip to jail comes a day after E! announced a third-season pickup for Keeping Up With the Kardashians. (E! Online is a division of E! Entertainment.)
