We're a bunch of idiots. We've all been speculating and theorizing and freaking out about who Jon Snow's parents really are on Game of Thrones, and (part of) the answer has been sitting right under our noses the whole time.

And by "under our noses," we mean "on reddit." A year ago.

Sean Bean, who played the tragically honorable Ned Stark on the HBO series, did a reddit AMA last year to answer questions about his roles in Lord of the Rings, National Treasure and of course, on Game of Thrones.

Bean's AMA has been unearthed after the season-six finale, and for good reason. He dropped a spoiler on us and we were too blind to see it!

Someone asked him a question about his TV son to get to the bottom of the mystery behind why Jon Snow "knows nothing." And if we had really paid attention to the answer, maybe we wouldn't have wasted so much time trying to decode all the clues in every single episode/book page.

"Why did you not teach Jon Snow anything?" someone asked the actor. His response?

"HAHAHAHAH! Because he's not mine!"

Boom. Spoiler! Now, was he just kidding around or did he always know about his character's connection with Jon Snow?

Up until this past Sunday night, we were supposed to believe that Jon Snow was the bastard son of Ned after he slept with a woman who wasn't his wife. But Bean actually spilled the tea on Jon's true parentage long before "The Winds of Winter" episode.

Now it's been confirmed that Ned is not Jon's father; he's his uncle. And even though we don't hear who Jon's father is in the Tower of Joy scene, we all assume that Rhaegar Targaryen is Jon's true daddy, based on about a million clues and well, this very big spoiler posted by HBO themselves.

Once again, Ned comes through for us all and we didn't even notice. We miss you, Lord Eddard!
