Ya'll though J.K. Rowling couldn't come up with a more ridiculous sounding name than Hufflepuff, eh? You should know by now that Jo is always one step ahead of us.
Rowling has debuted new writing on Pottermore and it includes more of the backstory of the American Wizarding School, called Ilvermorny, which we will visit when Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them hits theaters. You can read all about how the school was founded across the pond, but most importantly, we learned the names of the four houses at Ilvermorny. Ready for ‘em?
Horned Serpent (cool), Thunderbird (classic), Wampus (lol) and Pukwudgie (LOL).
We don't care how we get sorted; we want to be a Pukwudgie for life! Just because of that crazy-sounding name. Oh, Americans and their silly names for things. Never change.

Horned Serpent: A great horned river serpent with a jewel set into its forehead; Represents the mind, favors scholars
Pukwudgie: A short, grey-faced, large-eared creature; Represents the heart, favors healers
Thunderbird: A creature that can create storms as it flies; Represents the soul, favors adventurers
Wampus: A magical, panther-like creature that is fast, strong and almost impossible to kill; Represents the body and favors warriors.
