Marion "Suge" Knight is suing Chris Brown.

The rap mogul was shot 7 times at 1Oak nightclub in August 2014. E! News obtained the documents and in the lawsuit filed on Monday, he stated that he believes Brown—who hosted the event that night—was at fault for not hiring adequate security, which he says is how at least one armed person was allowed into the venue the night of the party.

The lawsuit is also filed against 1Oak, stating the club should have taken special security precautions because events hosted by Brown have a history of violence. It accuses Brown of gang ties and a "well-documented track record of hosting events and/or parties in which violence frequently erupted."

Knight survived gunshot wounds to the abdomen, chest and left forearm. He cited multiple health complications from those injuries, including a blood clot.

But the bigger issue is that his attorneys, J. Tooson and Jeremy Lessem, say the shooting was a factor in his current murder trial.

Suge Knight Arrested on Suspicion of Murder in Connection to Fatal Hit-and-Run

In case you missed it, Knight is currently in jail awaiting trial for charges of murder, attempted murder and a hit-and-run in the death of Terry Carter and the injuring of Cle "Bone" Sloan. Knight ran over the two men with his truck outside a Compton fast food joint before driving away on Jan. 23, 2015.

Surveillance video of the deadly incident leaked shortly after, and Knight's attorney argued that the footage proves Knight was attacked first before he ran over the two men.

In the lawsuit against Brown, his attorneys say his fear after the 1Oak shooting caused him to flee the scene after running down the two men who attacked him in his car because he was "afraid for his life."

"Mr. Knight was still extremely frail from his gunshot injuries less than five months earlier," Tooson wrote in a statement. "When the facts are finally revealed in this case, we're certain it will be apparent that our client was simply trying to flee for his life."

Knight has pleaded not guilty on all counts.
