Luann de Lesseps has seen it all on the Real Housewives.

From co-stars exchanging vows in front of cameras to couples dropping the "divorce" word on national television, the Bravo reality star knows that having and then maintaining a successful marriage under the public eye can be difficult.

But as the Real Housewives of New York City star prepares for her New Year's Eve wedding to fiancé Tom D'Agostino, the Big Apple veteran is setting boundaries as to what the public can and cannot see.

"I adore Tom and I want to be happy. I don't want to have the Housewives curse so I don't think that's something I'm willing to do," Luann shared with E! News when asked about a possible televised wedding. "I think there's a lot to be learned from Housewives wedding specials. I think the only person who has been able to pull it off is Kim Zolciak."

She continued, "I think your husband needs to really be into it. The person or partner you're going to be with really needs to be in it and you know, Tom is a very private person and I respect that."

This season on the Bravo series, Tom has made a few special appearances. In fact, he has a connection to other cast members including Sonja Morgan and Ramona Singer. But while Luann's bond with Tom is stronger than ever, she's not blind to the fact that divorce has been a common theme in the Real Housewives franchise.

Ultimately, Luann believes that some stuff should be kept private even if you're given such a public platform.

"I think that unfortunately for some of the women on these shows, they don't have a lot going on in their life and they feel pressured to maybe talk about divorce and talk about what they are going through in their real life," she shared with E! News. "That's sometimes a decision people make that I don't agree with."

She added, "I don't think you have to air all of your dirty laundry on television. I think your family is more important than your reality TV life."

On a much happier note, the fashion designer is hard at work planning her upcoming nuptials that will take place in Palm Beach. Regardless of whether or not cameras will be present, Luann assures us that it's going to be one "big celebration."

"I'm starting to look at wedding dresses. I got the band lined up. I got the flowers organized. The caterer is all set so now it's getting the invites out, getting my dresses and organizing the whole weekend," she teased to E! News. "It's a destination wedding so there's a lot going on."

Real Housewives of New York City airs tonight at 9 p.m. followed by Before They Were Housewives: Luann at 10 p.m. only on Bravo.
