Feeding off of people's love for nostalgia can make you some serious money these days. If you have any old Disney VHS tapes collecting dust, you're about to be rich (maybe). It looks as though our childhood favorites like Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and The Little Mermaid are going for hundreds, even thousands of dollars on eBay. The people posting these pricey relics appear to be those who own "rare" copies, such as The Little Mermaid VHS with that naughty, eggplant emoji-themed cover art. Although, they're not exactly that rare. Walk into any garage sale or thrift store you'll definitely run into them.
Why someone would pay that much for a VHS tape your parents probably still have at their house is beyond us, but hey, a seller can dream, right? If you want to take a stab at making bank off of your old tapes, it looks like the sky's the limit when it comes to what you can price it. Seriously, there's a Beauty and the Beast VHS going for almost $10,000.
Other vendors are selling the same tapes for more reasonable prices, so we have to wonder if these are actually worth spending your rent money on, or if people are just trying to troll innocent Disney lovers. As long as there is an obsession with nostalgia, however, we're certain there will always be buyers willing to pay any price.
