The surprising friendship Big Boo (Lea DeLaria) and Pennsatucky (Taryn Manning) developed on Orange Is the New Black has been one of the series' high points. It shows just how much characters, like people, can evolve with the help of others and through the passage of time. It's been just as much fun for the actors as it has the viewers.

"The best part is I'm hanging out with my buddy that I would hang out with off-set anyway," DeLaria told E! News when she and Manning sat down with us before the season four premiere. "We just continue to do what we would do at the bar down the street after we're done."

The ladies of Orange Is the New Black have now spent four seasons as these characters, so it's safe to assume there is some influence going on there. While DeLaria joked she's learned she wants more money to be in show business, Manning said she has taken some life lessons away from her character.

"I've learned to love New York because I'm from LA," Manning said. "I've learned a lot about just the prison system in real life and just how corrupt, truly, it is and how it's no fun to be there. And yeah, freedom is everything."
