Olympic medals and championship trophies are nice, but this award ain't so bad either!

E! News can confirm basketball player Kobe Bryant will receive the prestigious Legend Award at Nickelodeon's upcoming Kids' Choice Sports Awards 2016.

The honor is bestowed upon athletes who serve as role models for kids across the globe. As a five-time NBA champion, two-time Olympic gold medalist and father of two kids, we see why some credit is due.

"It's an honor to receive Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Sports Legend Award," Kobe said in a statement. "This is a great opportunity to inspire kids to never lose their imaginations and to dream bigger than what they think is possible. If you stay true to that, the hard work, dedication and success will always follow."

David Beckham and Derek Jeter have also received the special award from Nickelodeon.

To say it's been a special year for Kobe may just be understatement.

In addition to retiring from the NBA, the basketball stud was able to draw celebrities including Lamar Odom, Kanye West, Adam Levine and Jay Z for his final home game.

Plus, Swifties can't forget when the Los Angeles Lakers star showed up to the Staples Center during Taylor Swift's 1989 tour and delivered a special surprise to the "Shake It Off" singer.

Perhaps there's only one question left when it comes to this story: Will Kobe get slimed on awards show night? Stay tuned!

Watch the 2016 Kids' Choice Sports Awards hosted by Russell Wilson on Sunday, July 17 at 8 p.m. only on Nickelodeon.
