Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd have a very exciting chapter ahead of them, and they've made one thing very clear—they're going to enjoy every step of the way together.
The two Dancing With the Stars pros have been extremely busy planning their upcoming wedding after getting engaged late last year, but they managed to take some time out to sit down with E! News' Erin Lim at the Golf Pro shop Club Champion to talk about everything they have in store for their big nuptials, the possibility of having little ones running around and that gorgeous ring that is absolutely blinding.
"I'm actually partners in a jewelry company Cantamessa, beautiful jewelry makers out of Italy," Maks told us of creating his ladylove's sparkler. "I found the rock, and they designed the ring out of the factories in Italy, so I got really lucky with this whole process."
Peta laughed, "So did I," and added, "I love it. It's so unique, and nobody has this style. I think it's just gorgeous and he put a lot of time and effort into it."
Getting that rock on Peta's finger was no easy task for Maksim, who admitted he was having trouble figuring out the right style and size. The ballroom pro explained to E! News that he went through Murgatroyd's phone and jewelry box to try and get some help, but ultimately, he had to tie a string around her finger while she was asleep to find the right size. LOL!
"It was a stealth mission," he said.
The couple tell E! News they're planning to wed in New York City in July 2017, which gives them some time to plan, but there's still a lot to get done. "It's a while away, so we've got our location, we've got our date set, and we haven't even started doing the guest list yet, but that can wait a little bit," Peta told us.
"I can try on some dresses now. I think it's time to start doing all that and getting a wedding planner."
And you can definitely expect to see some familiar dancing faces at their ceremony. "We deliberately have it in July so it doesn't conflict with any of the seasons, so we can bring our past partners and our troupe of dancers and stuff like that," Peta explained.
The pair, who have also become golf aficionados with the help of PXG high-end golf clubs and Golfino clothing, are also toying with the idea of surprising each other with a choreographed dance or show, and their competitive nature couldn't help but flourish while just talking about the idea, but Maksim loves it. "I think we're gonna have a fun rest of our lives, for sure," he sweetly said.
Regardless of what they decide to do, there will definitely be a good amount of people witnessing the grand event.
"Our friend did a destination wedding last summer and we had an amazing time and we thought about this, let's do it, let's limit the guest list to whoever and people will make their way out," Maks told E! News.
"Then we got engaged and threw a little get together and it was 125 people. We didn't even tell anybody. So 125 before any sort of invitations went out, made us feel like we might be…we don't want to upset anybody. We want people to have a night to celebrate us and celebrate with us. I know we have a lot of friends that were looking forward to that. We want to accommodate them as well, not everyone can afford a destination wedding."
As for what may come after marriage, the couple didn't confirm or deny that there's a baby on the way, but Peta confidently said, "Absolutely, we want kids."
Maks continued to note that they would want their little one to do whatever makes them happy. "Future great member of society and a beautiful addition to whatever they want. Healthy. I just had a conversation with my dad, and whenever that happens, he's ready."
