Unless you've got some big money to spare, the chances of getting tickets to Hamilton while Lin-Manuel Miranda still in the show are pretty low.

Like really low.

That said, we will be seeing the Tony winner on the big screen in 2018 in the Mary Poppins sequel opposite Emily Blunt in the title role.

"That starts next year," Miranda told me on the Tonys red carpet. "I've heard the songs and they're amazing!"

Miranda, who is also developing his Tony-winning musical In the Heights for a film adaptation, is set to play a new character in Mary Poppins, a street lamplighter named Jack.

Directed by Chicago director Rob Marshall, the film will include a score by Marc Shaiman and original songs from Scott Wittman. "It's incredible so I'm proud to be a part of it," Miranda said. "And could you imagine a better Mary Poppins than Emily Blunt? Are you kidding me? I'm just so thrilled to be in that room."

Will the original Mary Poppins Julie Andrews appear in the sequel? "I don't know," Miranda said. "The script is not done yet. What I've seen I've loved, but we're still making this."

Disney has set Mary Poppins for a Christmas 2018 release.

It can't come soon enough.
