Don't put your winter textiles away just yet! They've got some unfinished business.

A common misconception, when it comes to the start of a new season, is that you have to stow away your favorite winter pieces. Before you start with the "but I'll sweat too much" complaints, chill. We're not saying it's time to pull out faux-fur for a day at the beach, but we are pointing out that trendsetters like Kendall Jenner make a good point. It's time you brought those warmer, more durable fabrics with you for some fun in the sun.

Let's start with wool.

Wool

We agree, this particular texture is best for keeping you warm, but it has so much more to offer. Your typical uniform of tank tops and cutoff shorts aren't cutout for every scenario. Throw a cropped wool jacket (pro tip: keep the material to a minimum), hat or even trousers into the mix and it can be the sophistication your summer wardrobe is missing.

Suede

Google any music festival and you'll see plenty of suede-clad concert-goers basking in the sun. (Translation: summer suede is officially a thing.) If Cressida Bonas' amazing booties haven't convinced you yet, try a mini skirt or small bag on for size. The textile's light-weight and soft-to-the-touch properties make it ideal for summer stuntin'.

Cashmere

Nothing says elegance like cashmere...and often, that's just what your summer uniform is missing. It's definitely a more breathable fabric than wool, but the same tip applies: use it in small doses for maximum impact. A crop top like Alessandra Ambrosio's is a great place to start.

Leather

Everything is better with leather. Without it, how would you edge-up your look? No amount of embellishments could replace its perfectly imperfect appeal. You could suit-up like Phoebe Tonkin in an all-leather ensemble or you could go the more minimal route in a sultry bralette or cool heeled sandals.

Knit

Knits are a no-brainer because of their breathable nature. They can be woven tightly (ideal for winter) or they can be woven loosely (perfect for summer). For more casual occasions, go for something like Kate Bosworth's top and if you plan on hitting up any beaches, an embroidered bathing suit can be worn underneath. Dresses are also a cool and easy throw-on-and-go option!
