AKM-GSIIt was definitely sad when Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris split, but those closest to them had seen it coming.
That stems from the fact that the 26-year-old singer and 32-year-old DJ, whose real name is Adam Wiles, are simply "very different people," a source tells E! News exclusively.
"Taylor wanted more attention than Adam gave," adds an insider. "Adam did care very deeply for her but the breakup was bound to happen."
Contrary to a report claiming otherwise, a source tells E! News "marriage or engagement was not talked about" between the twosome.
On Thursday, an insider told E! News that Adam "has been bored for a while" in the relationship "and was hoping the spark would come back, but it hasn't."
This was apparently evident to those around the couple formerly known as #Talvin. As a source told E! News, "Friends were even surprised it lasted this long because of the lack of chemistry."
Another insider noted Taylor and Adam "were just not very compatible in different areas in their relationship" and ultimately "seemed like they were more friends than lovers."
With all that said, though, Taylor and Adam's split appears to be an amicable one. On Thursday, Adam tweeted:
