Even Nick Jonas gets flustered around celebrities.

With host Nick Grimshaw's help, the "Close" singer surprised Emilia Clarke on BBC Radio 1's Breakfast Show Thursday. Before he entered the room, Grimshaw told the actress, "He loves the show [Game of Thrones] and he was really annoyed that he missed the show when Kit Harington was on. The only reason he's going to come into Radio 1 is to see Emilia Clarke."

Clarke said she was was "beyond flattered."

When Jonas joined Clarke, he called out Grimshaw for making him look like big Game of Thrones nerd. "You really set me up for failure to not look cool at all: 'One of your biggest fans is in the building!' I'm a huge fan," he said. "I've actually already met Emilia and I said just that, at the Oscars after-party. But it wasn't like, 'I'm a fan of the show.' Actually that was a part of it, but I was like, 'I'm also a fan of your Instagram.' Which I don't know if is a weird thing to say."

"That's an amazing thing to say!" Clarke assured him.

Jonas added, "I immediately walked away and was like, 'That sounded stupid.'"

Grimshaw then asked his guests to recreate their initial meeting. "Emilia, I just want to say, I love the show. I think you're fantastic. Also, your Instagram—it's great!" the pop star told the actress. "That was maybe after one or two cocktails that I said that. It was highly embarrassing."

"I found it very flattering," Clarke said. "I'm proud of Instagram."

Jonas is just one of 4.2 million people who follow the actress' photo adventures. "She posts great stuff—like insight into the show, behind-the-scenes pictures and stuff," he told Grimshaw. Jonas went on to ask some Game of Thrones-related questions before Grimshaw suggested he join the HBO series' cast in its seventh season. "I don't think they would hire me," Jonas replied. Clarke had higher hopes. "Oh, my God! Let's ask them now!" the actress said, promising to run the idea by showrunners and series creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. "True story: I'm going to e-mail them now. I will. 'Listen: He's open to dyeing his hair Targaryen blond.' Right?"

"Absolutely," Jonas said. "Let me know."

"There we go," Clarke replied. "You can ride a dragon, honey!"
