Mariah Carey is being crystal clear: she does not know Jennifer Lopez

After more than a decade, the ongoing confusion surrounding Mimi and her alleged "Ain't Your Mama" nemesis can be laid to rest. The longtime silent feud began in the early 2000s when a reporter asked the "We Belong Together" songstress about the triple threat. "I don't know her," she replied and the rumors have swirled ever since.

Never one to shy away from the drama, Watch What Happens Live's Andy Cohen couldn't let Carey leave his late-night show Wednesday without revisiting the tale.

"That was so long ago," she said. "I can't believe people still make such a big deal out of it."

Perhaps it's because both parties have continued to fuel the drama with their off-the-cuff comments. In March, Lopez told Wendy Williams that Carey is "forgetful I guess! We've met many times. I don't know...I don't know her that well."

"Apparently, I am forgetful," Carey shot back to Cohen Wednesday. "It wasn't like I don't know who she is—of course I do. That's not the question."

"The question was about Beyoncé and I was saying I think she's super talented. She's a friend of mine. She's always been sweet to me. She's always been very cool and then they asked me another question [about Lopez]," the mother of two explained.

"If I had never had a conversation with you and someone asked me about you, I'd be like, 'I don't know him, but he seems cool' or 'I don't know him'" the newly engaged star explained to the host. Pushing the issue, Cohen then asked if she thought J.Lo seemed "cool." Carey had no words.

"I don't know her," Carey echoed. "What am I supposed to say? I'm not going to put on a thing like we're all Hollywood and let's pretend we're best friends."

So, they know of each other, but it's pretty safe to say they won't be having each other over for a cocktail anytime soon.
