Nerve, based off of Jeanne Ryan's novel by the same name, illustrates how destructive the Internet can be. The enticing thriller tells the story of a high school senior named Vee (Roberts) immersed in an online game of Truth or Dare, where her every move becomes controlled by an anonymous group of "watchers."
The recently released trailer shows Vee getting hounded by her friends for not being exciting enough, so (because peer pressure), she ends up joining this online game.
At first, it seems fine. Kiss a stranger? Sure. Especially if this stranger is Dave Franco. Ride on a motorcycle? Why not? Try on expensive clothes and then be forced to leave the store in your underwear because all your clothes are gone? Interesting...
Things quickly started to take a dangerous turn when Roberts and Franco's characters realized that their cooperation in the game was not voluntary. In fact, they'd lose everything if they weren't in it to win it.
