Watch: Justin Timberlake's Nostalgic Childhood Admission

Justin Timberlake has been busy promoting his upcoming animated film, Trolls, and we couldn't help but wonder if the project sparked some nostalgia for him.

Chatting with E! News' Catt Sadler at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival, he recalled his experience with toy trolls growing up. "It just seemed like every girl in school had like the Treasure Troll with the jewel in the belly," he said as his co-star in the film, Anna Kendrick, couldn't help but add, "They were the best ones!"

While J.T. might have left the troll collecting to the ladies, he did have another interesting toy when he was younger.

"Do you remember Cabbage Patch kids?" he asked (who doesn't!). "I didn't collect them, but I had a Cabbage Patch Kid when I was really, really young—like 4 or 5." Anna admitted she loves that little factoid about him.

As for his true obsession growing up, Justin was just like every other boy: Star Wars. "The original Star Wars," he clarified, noting, "I had a millennium falcon...I had an X-wing."

Meanwhile, Justin is incredibly excited over the Trolls film, for which he helped executive produce the soundtrack. During an interview with Carson Daly on 97.1 Amp Radio last week he chatted about the project and his new single "Can't Stop the Feeling" off the album.

"I'm not going to be shy about saying that working on this soundtrack has bled into working on some other stuff for myself," he said. "I kind of had been talking with Max [Martin] about maybe getting back into the studio just to get creative and then this project came up and so we just kind of jumped on and tackled it together and ended up writing this, in my opinion, like a banger."

Not to mention, it's also been a cool project to get on considering his one-year-old son, Silas.

"I think it was kind of serendipitous in that way where having just had a son and going like, 'Wow! This is kind of cool!'" he explained. "But who knows?  By the time he watches the movie, he'll probably be like, 'Dad!  That's not cool!'"

Trolls is expected to be release in November of this year.
