Kerry Washington and husband Nnamdi Asomugha made a very rare public appearance at the 2016 Met Gala Monday night. The private couple stepped out after E! News exclusively broke that they're expecting baby No. 2! The Scandal star cradled her baby bump on the event's multicolored carpet, where she thanked reporters who congratulated her on the exciting news.
Wearing couture Marc Jacobs, Washington looked stunning with magenta hair and lacey elbow-length gloves. She also made a bold statement with a thigh-high slit that showed off her toned legs. In exclusive pictures from inside the event, Washington's husband looked at her adoringly. The Confirmation actress gave him an ear-to-ear grin in return.
Washington's and Asomugha continue to raise daughter Isabelle away from the public eye, and while they keep their daughter out of the spotlight, the Hollywood couple has been open about how parenthood has changed them for the better.
"I will say I feel really, really blessed," Kerry gushed to the Los Angeles Times in one of her first interviews after welcoming their child. "I just feel really blessed that I'm kind of living extraordinary dreams come true in my work life and in my personal life."
She also told close friend Jimmy Kimmel that she loves being a family of three (and soon four!). "Life is really great," she shared. "You know, little girl at home, it's great."
Washington wasn't the only star to put her pregnancy on display at the Met Gala; Olivia Wilde, Blake Lively and Emily Blunt also looked stunning while making their way through the party.
