The Met Gala has brought Robert Pattinson and FKA twigs back to us!

The engaged couple have spent the majority of the year out of the spotlight, but resurfaced tonight to attend the high-fashion event at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, where they affectionately posed for photos together on the carpet.

Pattinson looked dapper in a black and white tux with a white blazer, while his fiancée stole attention in her stunning ensemble. The singer rocked a flesh-colored gown with a high slit and diamond accents that accentuated her enviable figure.

She added some extra flair with an intricate jeweled headpiece that linked to her nose ring and matched the detail of her dress.

The couple's relationship status was under question late last year after it was revealed that they'd put their wedding plans on hold, however E! News learned at the time that everything was fine between the two.

A source told us that "things are just fine" with the engaged twosome. "They haven't drifted apart [despite claims], but they haven't spoken as much lately because of his filming schedule," the source explained.

"He is in Belfast and she is currently in the United States."

The insider reiterated, however, that a halt in wedding planning doesn't really imply anything beyond that. "There isn't a rush to get married. Fall plans turned into winter plans and now there are no specific plans, but they still plan on getting married."

News of the couple's engagement first surfaced in April 2015, after the Brit songstress was spotted with an ornate, unique diamond sparkler on her engagement finger.

At the time, a friend of the duo told E! News that "there is a special connection between the two of them. Music is a big part of the relationship, because it means so much to them. They clicked instantly and they literally have been inseparable."

Watch E!'s Live From The Red Carpet 2016 Met Gala special starting at 7:30 p.m. ET/PT on Monday, May 2nd
