Even though the story has been lifted from London to New York, Emily Blunt is letting her British roots shine through in The Girl on the Train.

The highly anticipated movie, which is based on author Paula Hawkins' best-selling mystery novel, received its first trailer Wednesday and Blunt is perfect for the titular role. Blunt plays Rachel, an alcoholic who becomes obsessed with a couple she witnesses every day on her train ride to work. After the woman disappears, Rachel becomes obsessed with finding out what happened and ultimately winds up entangled in the investigation.

Allison Janney's character questions Rachel about what she saw, and whether she knows anything more about the victim, Megan Hipwell (Haley Bennett). But Blunt can't remember anything because she had too much to drink the night before.

"What happened that night in the tunnel?" Blunt asks. "Tell me the truth."

The first trailer mixes footage of Rachel trying to figure everything else with scenes of Megan clearly in danger. It comes to a head at the end when something sneaks up on Rachel with a golf club and grabs her hair. Eventually, all eyes turn on Rachel to see if she actually is the murderer.

"Did you murder Megan Hipwell," Janney's character asks.

"No," Rachel responds.

The Girl on the Train stars Justin Theroux, Rebecca Ferguson, Luke Evans and Bennett while Tate Taylor, best known for his work on The Help, directs the film.
