Watch: Has Garry Marshall Met Anne Hathaway's New Baby?

Anne Hathaway has come so far personally and professionally in the past 15 years.

She and husband Adam Shulman recently welcomed their son Jonathan Rosebanks Shulman, and it goes without saying that the Oscar winner has quite a career in Hollywood. Mother's Day director Garry Marshall couldn't be any prouder of "Annie," who helped get her start back in 2001's The Princess Diaries.

"We still talk, we're still friends," Garry told E! News' Jason Kennedy at the Mother's Day premiere Wednesday. Julia Roberts, a star in Garry's latest movie, worked with the beloved director at the start of her career, too, when she starred in 1990's Pretty Woman.

"Both Julia and Annie started with me when they were 19," said Garry. "I'm very good with 19-year-olds."

Both of those 19-year-olds are all grown up now and moms themselves. Julia's three kids are older, but this year will be the first time Anne, 33, celebrates Mother's Day as a parent. Garry lit up when asked about Annie's little boy, calling him "a lovely baby."
