Bravo is really committed to this Girlfriend!
Girlfriend's Guide to Divorce was picked up for three additional seasons, the network announced on Tuesday. You read that right: three more seasons! Created by Buffy vet Marti Noxon and starring House fan-favorite Lisa Edelstein, Girlfriend's Guide recently wrapped its second season, meaning it will continue through season five, at least, which is basically the TV-equivalent of putting a ring on it.
"With our first foray into scripted, Bravo's viewers fell in love with Abby and her close-knit group of friends experiencing the fabulous joys and deep disappointments of juggling dating, careers, family and relationships," Frances Berwick, President of Lifestyle Networks, NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment, said in a statement. "We are all excited to see what's next for Abby and her friends."
NBCUniversal Cable CCO Jeff Wachtel added, "With Marti and Lisa leading our stellar writers and cast, GG2D is a show that captures an important slice of the zeitgeist. And with this remarkable three season pickup, it will be a show that audiences can discover and enjoy forever."
Edelstein celebrated the big three-season pick-up with a post on her Facebook page, writing, IT IS OFFICIAL!!!!!! SEASON THREE (4&5)."
Bravo's first scripted series, Girlfriend's Guide ended its second season with 765,000 viewers and a 0.3 demo rating.
(E! and Bravo are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
